MIDLIFE YOGA CLASS--Go At Your Own Pace

Mind Catching Up with Body

Take a few minutes to lie down on the floor and appreciate having arrived where you are. Let your mind catch up with your body. You are here now.

Relax. Feel the pressure of the floor against your body. Which parts of your body are touching the floor?

Take a few deep breaths.

Clench all the muscles in your left foot. Breathe. Release. Tighten all the muscles in your left leg. Breathe. Release. Tighten all the muscles in your left hip. Breathe. Release.

Repeat this process with your right foot, right leg, right hip, midsection, upper trunk, right hand-arm-shoulder, left hand-arm-shoulder, neck, scalp, and face.

As you breathe deeply, feel yourself against the floor.

Please be careful. Let your body be the boss of your yoga.
A good stretch should feel good--avoid anything that causes sharp pain.
When you feel comfortable in a pose, push yourself a bit until you feel challenged.
These lessons are free. Use them cautiously and at your own risk.

You can do these yoga/pilates poses in any order you want, or just click on the "Next" link (above) to get the recommended sequence.
